| THIS IS A WARNING This is to officially inform anyone who has read my testimonial at 1planhost.com that it is no longer true! In fact I have written numerous times now requesting that they, the NEW OWNERS of 1planhost, AKA WEBHOSTPLUS, remove it. However they have ignore all my requests to date. Therefore I have decided to expose my true feelings and my true experience with WEBHOSTPLUS since they bought 1planhost back in April of 2006.
I was a very satisfied customer of 1planhost for many years. But, that was when it was under the ownership of Darrell Williams. During the time 1planhost was owned by Darrell I had, what I felt, was the best hosting service a person could ask for. The uptime was excellent. The service outstanding, the support was fast and courteous.
HOWEVER!!! In May 2006 Darrell sold 1planhost to Web Host Plus. Web Host Plus continued to pose as 1planhost, saying things like they were doing upgrades. In April or shortly before the truth broke that Darrel had sold to Web Host Plus but they were an excellent company with a great track record and that they had expert staff and everyone would be satisfied and service would be better than ever, NOT!!! When the migration occurred in April all hell broke loose. Manta-2000, VIP-LasVegas, Royalwest1, bigbearproperties, bigbearrealestate, bigbearrealestateinfo, shelleyonline, llamas, and healthbecomesyou ALL went down. I know this because I was webmaster for them all. These were businesses whom I had hosted over the years with 1planhost because of the great stability they had shown and their proven track record. Now, under the control of webhostplus, these sites were reduced to ruin. Email was disrupted and in some cases critical email correspondence was lost. Ecommerce and shopping carts malfunctioned, the businesses these websites represented suffered losses to revenue and reputation. I personally went to bat for these companies working for many months trying to stabilize the troubles they were suffering at the hands of the new owners, AKA webhostplus. |
I tried to reassure my clients that things would go back to
normal, however they did not. After about 2 months things looked like they were getting
stable. Then came more upgrades as webhostplus called them. This caused another round of
heartache for already stressed companies. I finally stopped cleaning up after webhostplus and began moving my clients one by one to safer ground, all for free as I felt obligated to make right the problems caused by a service that I once so proudly recommended . To date, as far as I know troubles still plague 1planhost service and I must warn everyone based on my personal experience that opening an account at 1planhost in not with my blessing. They continue to hide behind 1planhost's original webpages, they offered not one drop of compensation, not even so much as one free day of service, to make up for the tragedy they wrought on 1planhost customers. And worse yet, at least in my case, they continue to use my testimonial, which reflects the way 1planhost was BEFORE they took it over to lure unsuspecting companies and people to sign up with their service. In my opinion, and in rebuttal to my former testimonial...
If you are thinking about signing up at 1planhost - DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK. My advice is RUN THE OTHER WAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN. LINKS WITH MORE ON THIS ISSUE
